Paul Carney

Paul is a nationally recognised art consultant having delivered specialist art INSET CPD in schools across the UK and for the UK’s leading training providers. He is a board member for the NSEAD and runs his highly successful art website; paulcarneyarts.com which provides high quality teaching resources and advice to teachers around the world.

He has twenty years teaching experience at Primary, Secondary and post-16 levels of education, is an Advanced Skills Teacher, ex-Subject Leader and was a member of the DfE Expert Advisory Group for Art and Design. In addition to this he was a member of the NSEAD Curriculum Writing Group that wrote the art curriculum competencies, more formally called the: 'Framework for Progression, Planning for Learning, Assessment, Recording and Reporting 2014'.

Susan Coles

Susan, an artist/teacher, is a leading expert on art craft design education in the UK and beyond, and a passionate advocate for the subject. A past president of NSEAD, she now represents Europe on the World Council for the International Society for Education through Art, and is also secretary to the All Party Parliamentary Group on Art Education. Susan is also a trustee of AccessArt and chair of governors in a primary school.

Kate Mason

For over twenty years, Kate Mason has worked consistently in a variety of roles across the arts, heritage, community, cultural and creative industries sectors. A strategist, persuader and cultural broker, she is a passionate advocate for the value of the arts as one of the key pillars of a balanced education and supports the belief that we all - regardless of age or background - have an entitlement to quality cultural learning.Kate early passion kick-started her career with an MA in Heritage & Museum Studies and a thesis around the Arts & Crafts Movement and the role and influence of William Morris and John Ruskin. Kate currently is now at The Big Draw in her role as Director, channelling her personal passions in neat alignment in support of their visual literacy agenda. In 2018, Kate became Companion of The Guild of St George'.

AccessArt

AccessArt celebrates its twentieth year in 2019. AccessArt is a UK Charity directed by Paula Briggs and Sheila Ceccerelli. Their aim is simple – to inspire and enable high quality visual arts teaching, learning and practice. Sheila and Paula, both graduates of the Royal College of Art, run a pro active organisation which consists of creative professionals and practitioners, educators, designers and crucially the learners themselves. They work in partnership with a number of institutions and organisations, ranging from schools, museums, galleries, to umbrella and advocacy groups. They have members all over the world and have recently launched a support package, through membership, for the primary art curriculum.
