Mary Myatt: Explores curriculum intent, implementation and impact

Curriculum: Implementation and Impact

It’s a big piece of work, revisiting and revising the curriculum. And it takes time. This session will focus on doing fewer things, in greater depth, rather than falling in to the ‘curse of content coverage’.

About The Course

We will outline the headlines of the ‘intent’ of the curriculum and then consider how these are translated into planning and resourcing. This is where deep thinking about what we want children to learn, takes place.

We will talk through some principles and examples for the implementation of the curriculum and check that the rhetoric is matched by reality.

Finally, we will identify some of the information which will provide evidence that pupils have learnt what we intended. These will include examples from primary and secondary.
